The client
Data and analytics expert QUNIS has been supporting its customers for over 10 years in all aspects of modern data management, advanced analytics and business intelligence.
The project
Recording of project times and consultant workloads
QUNIS, a consulting firm specialising in data and analytics, has created a consulting forecast application in collaboration with GAPTEQ. This application allows projects and clients to be created quickly and the utilisation times of the assigned consultants to be easily recorded and maintained.
Highlights
Challenge
The more diverse and numerous customer projects become, the more difficult it is to maintain an overview when planning resources. Makeshift solutions using Excel were therefore no longer an option at QUNIS, especially as manual maintenance was time-consuming and inflexible. A simple solution was needed to ensure that the latest status was always available for weekly team meetings and the ongoing maintenance of consultant hours.
Solution
The application built with GAPTEQ offers a tabular interface that allows the responsible resource manager in the team to assign projects to consultants. Multiple projects can be assigned to a customer, or multiple consultants can be assigned to a project. Switching between views is done at the touch of a button. Projects that are not currently budgeted can be hidden.
‘We have optimally organised consultant hours and project staff with GAPTEQ.’
Consultants, for their part, can use the GAPTEQ application to quickly and independently enter their planned values (consulting hours, including travel time) for each month. In a comprehensive overview, the entries of all consultants can be automatically consolidated on a monthly basis and displayed in tabular and graphical form. This offers significant added value during weekly team meetings, as the data is always up to date, clear and unambiguous.
Result
Consultants and management can now quickly see whether they are on track. After monthly invoicing, actual hours are recorded and can be compared with forecast data. This gives management a tool with which they can identify major deviations.
‘The independent support provided by the consultants and the management overview of forecasts and capacity utilisation bring us efficiency and transparency.’
